Support at Home program

Helping older Australians stay independent, safe and comfortable at home

Support at Home is the Australian Government’s aged care program designed to help older Australians live safely, independently, and comfortably in their own homes for longer. Through personalised funding and services tailored to individual needs, the program provides access to practical support that helps people maintain their independence, wellbeing, and connection to their community.

At Carexcell, we make navigating Support at Home simple. Whether you need assistance with personal care, household tasks, nursing, allied health, transport, or social support, our experienced team will work with you to create a care plan that reflects your goals, preferences, and lifestyle. We’re here to help you remain confident, supported, and empowered in the place you call home.

How we support you

Practical Help for Independent Living

Support looks different for everyone — and often changes over time. Our services are flexible, personalised and designed to help you stay safe, active and independent at home. Carexcell offers a full range of Support at Home services, including:

Practical help with personal care, household tasks and daily routines so you can stay comfortable, independent and supported at home. This includes assistance with cleaning, getting to appointments, social support, grooming, meals, mobility, errands and general wellbeing.

Professional nursing and clinical support delivered at home to manage medications, wounds, chronic conditions and ongoing health monitoring.

Equipment and home adjustments — such as rails, ramps, mobility aids and adaptive technology — that improve safety, comfort and accessibility around your home.

Compassionate care focused on comfort, dignity and emotional wellbeing for you and your family during end-of-life care.

Short-term, goal-focused support that helps you regain strength, mobility and independence after illness, injury or a hospital stay.

Your rights, choice and control

Care that respects your voice, dignity and independence

The Support at Home Program is supported by Australia’s new Rights-Based Aged Care Act (2024), which legally protects your rights when receiving Government-funded aged care. These rights ensure you — or your loved one — are treated with dignity, respect, safety and full involvement in all decisions about care.

Your rights include:

  • Independence, autonomy and freedom of choice
  • Safety, dignity and high-quality support
  • Privacy, clear information and cultural respect
  • Fair access to services
  • Person-centred communication
  • The ability to speak up without fear
  • Support from advocates, carers and trusted people

At Carexcell, your rights guide every interaction — and your preferences remain at the centre of your care.

Understanding Your Costs Under Support at Home

We believe aged care funding should be simple, transparent and easy to understand.

Under the Australian Government’s Support at Home program, the cost of your care is shared between the Australian Government and, in some cases, you. How much you contribute depends on the type of support you receive and your individual financial circumstances.

At Carexcell, we are committed to ensuring you understand exactly what you are paying for, with no hidden fees and no surprises.

Locations we offer Support at Home services

Carexcell provides Support at Home services across a large region from Grafton to Hornsby, helping older Australians stay independent, safe and comfortable in their own homes.

To make it easy to find support in your area, we’ve created dedicated location pages for the most populated towns we serve. Each page explains the services available locally and how to get started with Carexcell.
